Susan’s career has included a number of high-level positions in both the public and private sectors.

As a senior civil servant at the Department of Health, Susan held a succession of key financial positions, including head of performance management for the North of England. She has also spent 10 years as a senor partner in a management consultancy firm.

Susan has been a Visiting Fellow at the universities of Leeds and Durham. She has also been lay chairman of Independent Review Panels into NHS complaints and a lay member of a local government advisory panel into residential care and inspection.

In addition to being a non-executive director of the Trust board, Susan is a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committee and Chairman of the Clinical Excellence Awards Committee.
