Professor McWilliam is the Dean-elect for the Faculty of Medicine and health at the University of Leeds, with responsibilities covering the School of Medicine, School of Healthcare, Leeds Dental Institute, Institute of Health Sciences, Institute of Psychological Sciences, Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine and Leeds Institute of Genetics, Health and Therapeutics.

Prior to this post, he held the position of Dean of the School of Healthcare for six years during an important period of expansion following the publication of the Government’s NHS Plan.

He has also served on the Councils of the Psychological Society and the Research Defence Society, as member of the Council of the University of Leeds and as a Governor of Harrogate District NHS Foundation Trust.
