Background and history

Seacroft Hospital was opened in 1904 as an infectious disease hospital for the city.

Its tall brick water tower is one of the best-known landmarks of East Leeds.

Seacroft Hospital currently provides an integrated Acute and Elderly Medicine services, predominantly serving the eastern half of Leeds.

It also now home to the internationally renowed head injuries rehabilitationn unit previousl based at Chapel Allerton Hospital.
