There are currently a number of changes to parking arrangements and access and these are detailed below:
- The car park outside the Outpatients will close along with the 13 spaces along the road outside of the Admin Building . A number of new spaces are being created to replace these lost.
- Vehicle access to the car parks for both staff and patients will be via the new hospital entrance, with vehicles turning right into the car park and exiting via the existing hospital entrance, this will help ensure traffic flows through the car park.
- Disabled vehicles and patient drop-offs will be able to drive down to the new hospital road where an area has been created to allow drop-offs and disabled parking.
- To ensure segregation between staff and visitor parking the top section of the old hospital site will be designated for staff and the bottom section of the site for visitors.
The plan below shows the location of all staff and visitor parking.
- Pedestrian access to the hospital will be from the car park entrance and along the new hospital road.
- The traffic flow outside the Administration building will change from one way to two way to allow the contractors lorries constructing the new hospital car park to enter and leave the site without having to drive through the car parks.
