Accessibility
Leeds Teaching Hospitals are working to make this site highly accessible to all users. The basic accessibility functions used on this site are described below, but if you have any ideas (or complaints) you are encouraged to contact us with your feedback.
Menu
Skip link
People using text-only browsers (or similar) should be presented with the page content very near to the top of the page. However, if you still want or need to jump past the remaining elements that do precede the main content, simply select the 'Skip to content' link at the top left of the page.
(On visual browsers this is invisible if your browser deals correctly with cascading style sheets.)
Change text size
By default, all text on www.leedsth.nhs.uk is set in a relatively sized font. This means that you can resize the text if you want or need to from within your browser. Instructions for the most common browser types are provided below:
Internet Explorer users:
- Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar.
- Select 'Text Size'.
- Select your option.
Netscape (pre 6.0) users:
- Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar.
- Then select Increase Font.
The keyboard action for this is CTRL+]
Netscape (6.0+) / Mozilla users:
- Click on 'View' in the top menu toolbar.
- Then select 'Text Size'.
Opera users:
- Click on 'File' in the top menu toolbar.
- Click on Preferences, then (in the left-hand 'Category' section of the dialogue box) 'Documents'.
- Specify the font-size you require in the 'Minimum font size (pixels)' option.
Accesskeys for this site
For the time being we have decided against implementing accesskeys on www.leedsth.nhs.uk. Two reasons in particular have led us to this decision:
- The way we generate our menu items has made assignment of accesskeys very difficult.
- Because (in certain circumstances) accesskeys are known to override user-defined keyboard settings, we want to offer a mechanism for turning them off if required. Again, this has been problematic to implement.
We are looking into the problem and hope to provide a decent solution soon. If you have any advice or opinions on this matter, please let us know.

You can change the appearance of this site by selecting a different stylesheet (or by disabling it altogether). Simply choose an option from the drop-down box.
