Coming to the Institute of Oncology

There are two public entrances to the Bexley Wing: the main entrance is situated on Level 0 and leads to a large open-planned foyer known as the Atrium. The second entrance is via Beckett Street which will bring you in at Level -2.

Using Public Transport

The main bus stops for Bexley Wing are located on Beckett Street which runs adjacent to the hospital site. Access to all floors can be made from this entrance (Level -2) with lifts and stairs to all areas.

Arriving by Car

If you are travelling by car, follow the signs for St James's Hospital Bexley Wing. The multi-storey car park has 1300 spaces for patients and visitors and operates a ‘Pay as you Leave' system. There is a pedestrian walkway from the car park Level 0 to the main entrance to the building and the Atrium.

Refreshments

Currently there is a café within the Bexley Wing and soon there will be a restaurant. Both dining areas have access to outside terraces, which are open from 8.00am to 8.00pm in the summertime and during daylight hours through the winter. These gardens are accessible from Level -2. There are also vending machines for snacks and drinks available on most floors.

Wheelchairs

There is a wheelchair store located in the main reception area. These operate by a one pound coin similar to a shopping trolley.

Shop

There is a shop selling magazines, confectionery, sandwiches, snacks, flowers and cards. There is also an ATM machine for cash withdrawals.

Telephones

There will be public telephones located throughout the hospital, look out for the symbol . Please note that mobile phones are prohibited in some areas as they interfere with medical equipment.
