The Child Development Centre has been established in order to provide facilities for the assessment, diagnosis and management of children who seem to be experiencing difficulties in their development. The Child Development Team aims to provide a co-ordinated health service to the pre-school child with developmental difficulties. Within the city of Leeds there are three Child Development Teams based in three localities, North East and East Leeds, served from St. James’s University Hospital, North West and West Leeds, served from Belmont House and South Leeds, served from the St. George’s Centre. As the Child Development Team (CDT) we provide our service within the community and hospital base settings, in the child’s home,and pre-school settings Service Description The Child Development Centre offers a range of services focusing on assessment of children with developmental difficulties. In liaison with parents, carers and professionals the centre aims to provide an appropriate service to meet the identified needs of children and their families. The Child Development Centre also provides an advisory and support service for other professionals in health, social services, education and the voluntary sectors.
