Child Development Centre Website

Facilities in the CDC

Access

    • The child development centre has a wheelchair access and an accessible toilet
    • We have limited parking in front of the children’s day hospital. However, it is important that you obtain a car-parking permit from reception to avoid being wheel clamped
    • Pay and display car parks are located in Beckett Street opposite the main hospital. Parking can be difficult and you should, therefore, allow sufficient time to park
 

Changing facilities

  • Baby changing facilities are available at the centre. We also have height adjustable changing facilities for our older clients

 

Eating and drinking

  • We have a Voluntary run tea bar within the Children’s Day Hospital, a small selection of café style outlets are available in the main wings of the hospital; please ask at reception for more details. Please feel free to bring snacks if you like. Due to safety reasons hot drinks are not allowed within the waiting area of the Child Development Centre

Hospital transport

  • Ambulance transport can only be authorised if there is a medical need. If you normally use hospital transport, please check that transport has been ordered for your appointment by ringing reception on (0113) 206 5836

Interpreters

  • If you need an interpreter for your appointment, please ask someone who speaks English to call the Child Development Centre to book one for you

No smoking policy

  • The hospital recognises the serious hazards caused by smoking. It also wishes to provide a clean and a healthy environment for all and therefore, a NO SMOKING policy is promoted and enforced
  • All public areas within the hospital including offices, waiting rooms and consultation rooms are No Smoking areas

Retail outlets

  • A variety of shops, a bank, cash dispenser and a cafeteria are situated on the ground floor of Gledhow wing for the sale of refreshments, newspapers and toiletries. For a map of the gledhow wing please click here.

Telephones

  • Mobile phones must be switched off, while you are in the centre. Public telephones are available on the first floor of the Children’s Day Hospital.
