Access to Physiotherapy Services Post ASR
Introduction
Following ASR the way in which the ED can access Physio services has changed. We should no longer send patients with their completed form to the physio dept. Instead give the patient the information sheet (see below, copies available in the WiC etc) and complete the physio referral form. The patient should take the form to ED reception where they are collated. The forms are collected on a daily basis by a member of physio staff .
Please ensure you ask the patient to phone the Physio department on the supplied number 24-48 hours after the clinic appointment. The physiotherapy department should then be able to give the patient an appointment over the phone. If the patient fails to phone the physio department within 2 weeks their referral will be considered to be cancelled.
