Currently the department is actively involved in recruiting for
CGH in prenatal diagnosis (Dr. Kelly Cohen) |
| The department is currently involved in a research study based in Leeds looking at a potentially different way to investigate babies with abnormal ultrasound scans, such as an increased nuchal translucency. The study is analysing a different kind of genetic test called array CGH, and women are invited to participate if we find an abnormality on their baby's ultrasound scan. In these cases, we often offer a test such as amniocentesis or CVS to look for chromosomal problems. If families agree to be involved, then the research team would use surplus samples from these tests to see if array CGH could be useful in the future. |
