Leeds Fetal Medicine Unit Website
Fetal abnormality, syndrome and soft marker database
This site is still under construction and only those topics in blue will currently link to an active web page.
This database aims to provide descriptions and/or pictures of the common abnormalities detected by antenatal ultrasound. It also includes descriptions of so called "soft markers" detected by ultrasound which are often not abnormalities per se, but indicators of increased risk of certain conditions that might affect the baby. The database does not aim to be comprehensive, but other resources are available if more information is required by clicking here.
PLEASE NOTE
THE OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS DATABASE ARE THOSE OF THE LEEDS FETAL MEDICINE DEPARTMENT AND ALTHOUGH BASED ON PUBLISHED EVIDENCE MAY DIFFER FROM THE OPINIONS OF OTHER INDIVIDUAL PROFESSIONALS
