Cystic structure within the abdomen contiguous with the bowel
Incidence ????
Diagnosis Ultrasound showing hyperechoic mucosa surrounded by hyperechoic wall
Gestation at diagnosis 12 weeks onwards
Known chromosomal or genetic association No, thought to be the result of abnormal gut development in early embryogenesis
Further investigations None
Differential Diaganosis

Ovarian cyst

Mesenteric cyst

Meconium Pseudocyst

Choledochal cyst

Prognosis Excellent, usually need neonatal surgical resection
Recurrance risk Low
