Incidence 1:3000 caucasians, 1:300 African/West Indian
Diagnosis Ultrasound, can be post axial (ulnar/fibular side - commonest) or pre axial (radial/tibial side)
Gestation at diagnosis 18 weeks
Known chromosomal or genetic association

Yes, but only in association with other abnormalities.  Commonest chromosomal abnormality trisomy 13. Many genetic syndromes associated

Further investigations

Karyotype if other abnormalities or known genetic family history.

3D/4D ultrasound may be useful if diagnostic uncertainty
