Talipes (Clubfoot)
Definition |
Malformation of foot and ankle bones resulting in foot rotated inwards or outwards |
| Incidence | 1:1000 live births |
| Diagnosis | Ultrasound characteristic appearance |
| Gestation at diagnosis | 12 weeks onwards |
| Known chromosomal or genetic association | Yes, 30% associated with chromosomal abnormality (Trisomy 18). In such cases other abnormalities are nearly always present. Talipes is also associated with Neural Tube defects |

| Differential Diaganosis | Rockerbottom foot Ectrodactyly Amniotic Bands |
| Prognosis | Excellent if isolated (may require surgery) |
