Leeds Fetal Medicine Unit Website

Welcome!

This site has been designed for use by both patients and professionals.  It aims to provide practical information on who we are, where we are and what we do.  The Leeds Fetal Medicine Unit serves patients from East, West and North Yorkshire who require certain types of specialised care in pregnancy.  It is based in both of the large teaching hospitals in Leeds (Clarendon Wing at The Leeds General Infirmary and Gledhow Wing at St James University Hospital).

If you are unsure whether a referral is needed we welcome telephone discussion prior to referral.  Please ring the unit, or for discussion with specific consultants, please ring the consultant's secretary.  If you require information urgently, or out of hours, please ring Delivery Suite at the LGI (0113 3923830) or Delivery Suite at St. James's University Hospital (0113 2065372) and ask if there is a fetal medicine consultant currently on-call.

The fetal abnormality and soft marker database contains information summaries and leaflets that can be downloaded and printed out on the most common problems we encounter in Leeds (we hope to expand the active list in time).

If you have any comment on our site please feel free to email us at emma.hoskins@leedsth.nhs.uk.  We cannot unfortunately respond to direct clinical questions without referral.
