Work Experience
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust offers a two tiered work experience programme. The first programme, Experience of the Work Environment looks at the working environment of the National Health Service and at the wide variety of careers that the service has to offer. Applicants can attend the course for up to two consecutive weeks and must be over the age of fourteen.
The second programme, The NHS Working Life Experience, is an observation/shadowing placement that gives applicants an insight into medical careers and can be used to support medical school applications. This programme is offered to students over the age of 16 but exceptions can be made for applicants in their final term of Year 11.
The centre co-ordinates work experience for people aged 14 years and above in the following areas:

Medicine |
- | Applicants who are interested in becoming a Doctor are advised to undertake the Experience of the Work Environment program prior to progressing onto the The NHS Working Life Experience program |
Allied Health Professionals |
- | this includes the following roles Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist / Radiographer / Dietician / Audiologist / Ophthalmologist / Speech & Language Therapist |
Administration & Clerical |
- | Receptionist / Secretary / Administrator |

| Support Services | - | Includes Portering / Housekeeping / Catering |
