What can our qualifications do for you?
Our qualifications are designed for people working in a 21st century healthcare setting. They are not a traditional examination based qualification but are founded on competence in a a range of healthcare work activities, the NVQ award is gained by proving competence by presenting a portfolio of evidence. If you have no qualifications, or qualifications which don't relate to your current role, are not confident in your study skills or enjoy a more practical way of learning then our awards may suit your needs.

What if I already have an NVQ and don't need to do another award?
You can do any single unit or more than one as a stand alone units to underpin changes in or new roles . You can do NVQ units for your continuing development / interest, if you already have an NVQ see Work Effectiveness competences or the unit structure from the award relating to your area of work
If you have no qualifications in English and Maths you maybe required to attend an assessment** and complete work identified in the Basic Skills assessment to Level 2* in the National Qualifications Framework which is broadley equivalent to O level standard Find out more about Basic Skills
* Other qualifications may exempt you from this assessment
** NVQs are free because they are funded by the government but this funding is dependent on completion of literacy and numeracy at Level 2

Our awards allow for progression onto further & higher education for example a health care assistants with NVQ 3 in a relevant healthcare field can go onto study to be a;
- Registred Nurse
- Operating Department Practitioner
- Assistant Radiographic Practitioner
- Assistant Practitioner in various healthcare settings
