Optometry: Safety spectacles
The Optometry department has a contract to provide safety spectacles to Trust employees with an authorised safety spectacle requisition. These are supplied by the dispensing section based in the main eye clinic based at St. James's University Hospital.
The department can only supply safety spectacles to Trust employees who have an up to date spectacle prescription following a recent full eye examination (within two years) from their own optometrist and a letter from their safety officer or works manager, with details of their department's cost code and giving permission for the supply of safety spectacles.
