The Strategic Projects Office (SPO) was set up in 2001 to take forward the 2 major private finance projects then being developed by the Trust.

These projects were:-

Wharfedale General Hospital, value £25 million

New Oncology Wing, value £220 million

From an initial nucleus of approximately 7 staff and focussing on these 2 major projects, the Office has now expanded to 21 employees and incorporates the Strategic & Business Planning function of the Trust as well.
