New Oncology Wing

<<Back to Strategic Projects Information

The new £220 million oncology facility will be a centre of excellence for Yorkshire which will revolutionise cancer care for the residents of Leeds and beyond. The new facility will support the pooling of medical resources and a significant concentration of high technology specialist equipment to support the provision of premium health care to patients.

Existing non surgical oncology facilities at Cookridge Hospital in north-west Leeds will transfer to the new facility and the vacated site will be decommissioned and sold.

The completed building will also centralise significant elements of the Trust’s specialist surgical services which will be transferred from the St James’s and Leeds General Infirmary sites.

Construction of the new facility will be completed on 14 December 2007 and the building will admit its first patients in early 2008.
