Strategic & Business Planning Team: Welcome
TEAM INTRODUCTION
The Strategic and Business Planning team was established as part of the Trust’s interim management structure in November 2006. We are a small team, and since our inception we have concentrated on the development of the Trust Turnaround plan (December 2006), the process and development of the Trust Business plan for 2007/08, and progressing key strategic initiatives.

ROLE OF THE STRATEGIC & BUSINESS PLANNING TEAM
The Trust has recognised the need for robust plans and an improved planning, control and monitoring system. The new interim planning arrangements were introduced to facilitate this. Longer term, we are developing improved strategic and business planning processes. In the short term, the team has played a major role in:
Trust Turnaround Plan 2007/08
The business planning team developed this process. The plan delivered within 10% of the required level of savings of £30 million within the last four months of 2006/07.
Business plan 2007/08
We have developed a business planning process with a clear logical sequence to achieve The Trust’s stated objectives. This is based on engagement by Clinical Management Teams whose individual risk rated plans have been amalgamated into the Trust’s Business plan. The monitoring process is similarly being developed to ensure delivery.
Strategy
We lend support to the newly created Strategy Development group and the TMB in developing Trust strategy and individual projects.
