Strategic Projects Office: Role

During the last 18 months, the Strategic Projects Office (SPO) team has expanded to support the delivery of projects such as the New Oncology Wing, Making Leeds Better and the Review of the Seacroft Site. The team also supports a number of initiatives on an ad hoc and as required basis.

The main role of the SPO is to:

  • Facilitate, manage and co-ordinate strategic projects across the Trust including PFI schemes
  • Develop and deliver major projects
  • Lead and support the delivery of strategic capital projects on behalf of the Trust
  • Lead and inform the delivery of Estates Planning within the Trust
  • Plan better healthcare environments which are designed to deliver better patient care

The SPO works in an integrated and multi disciplinary way and is currently acting as the Trust interface with project stakeholders including the private sector, user groups, external advisors and the wider Leeds and Yorkshire Community for the planning and delivery of the New Oncology Wing and Making Leeds Better projects.
