The Information Management Team

The Information Management Team maintain and develop the Information Systems used by the department, and assist and train members of staff to use these systems.
The team are responsible for the SPNet system. SPNet has been designed to provide a single central integrated system for supplies management information. Data are gathered from the different sources, cleaned (made consistent) and loaded into a Sybase Server data warehouse.
The team manage an item catalogue with over 250,000 records including 80,000 items from GHX , around 40,000 from NHS Logistics and many electronic catalogues from our major suppliers.
Items in the catalogue are matched to a contracts database managed by the Contracts Administrator.
The team is responsible for the roll-out of electronic requisitioning within the Trust and provides training and support for end-users. In addition electronic requisitions from RapidReq, ReqExpress and NHS Logistics On Line are converted into orders by the team.
Supplies reports are generated for finance and budget holders as well as clinical management team leaders.
